New Training Program For Alzheimer’s / dementia

Assisted Living At Home has begun their new Alzheimer’s and dementia training program for the home health aides, nurses care managers and office staff. The first two trainings were held  on 12/6 & 12/8/2011 and were an overview of the brain and how it is affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.  The training was created in layers so that trainees are first given understanding of the brain and then the effective practices and interventions are discussed in up coming trainings.  Assisted Living At Home is dedicated to providing the most comprehensive training available for their staff in the field of Alzheimer’s. Working with dementia is not like any other disease and requires special skills from all the staff, including the home health aides, nurses, care managers and office staff.  People attending the training walked away with a much greater understanding of Alzheimer’s and dementia and will be much better equipped to deal with clients suffering from this disease
