Our Caregivers: The Best Screened and The Best Trained

Quality of life is the primary focus of Assisted Living At Home, and that starts with quality care. We started in the home care business in 1989, long before it was fashionable to provide senior care services. There is no substitute for experience and our twenty years providing the highest level of care have taught us a lot. We understand that the caregivers we hire must be the highest caliber in the industry.

We do not provide Medicare, Medicaid or other high volume type of work that forces other agencies to desperately accept any applicant bearing the right qualifications. Our strategy is quality, not quantity and because of this, can afford to be very picky with the caregivers we select.

The Screening Process

We have learned that being proactive when it comes to handling problems is the best way to do business, and by incorporating an incredibly thorough screening process, problems can be avoided before they get a chance to start. Our screening process consists of:

1) pre-interview telephonic screening.
2) In-office application.
3) Staff trained in using cutting edge pre-employment assessments to help determine dependability, honesty, reliability and aggression.
4) Face to face personal interviews in our office using behavioral and situational interview techniques and performed by at least two different staff members for each applicant.
5) Verification of license and criminal background check.
6) Checking both personal and work references. There can be no gaps of time which are unaccounted for.
7) Competency testing for job specific tasks.

Only after they have passed our rigorous screening are they eligible for training and orientation.

Orientation and Training

All caregivers go through an orientation prior to starting work. Not only does this give us a chance to impart our philosophy on them, it also makes sure they know the basics of how we operate. No stone is left unturned and we review all aspects of employment with Assisted Living At Home. We train our caregivers to look for opportunities to enrich the lives of the clients they care for. This goes beyond providing personal care and is what separates us from any other home care agencies. Our caregivers all provide excellent care, but they also provide an excellent quality of life for your loved ones. In addition to the training they receive initially, they are also required to receive additional training throughout the year to continually learn and keep their skills sharp.

Supervision

All clients of Assisted Living At Home receive supervised visits from the office care manager and all home health aides are also supervised by our registered nurse. This helps assure that we keep a close eye on every case to assure maximum satisfaction.
